We are happy to announce that we're creating a new meeting point for homeschooling families in Lucca. A welcoming space where children can study together, work on projects, build friendships, and experience learning in community.
Homeschooling Lucca was born from a simple need.
Families should not have to homeschool alone.
Local and international families are both welcome — whether you have lived in Tuscany for years or are just moving to Lucca with your kids.

Who we are
Hi, I'm Anna-Madeleine Monsalve Leyton, a homeschooling mom of three living in Tuscany.
I founded Homeschooling Lucca because I didn't want to walk the homeschooling journey alone.
After my first year homeschooling I finally connected with a mom on Facebook and this is where it all began.
Today, we are a growing community of families who meet regularly, support one another and enjoy life together.
What started as a simple search for connection has grown into a vibrant community of local and international homeschooling families across Lucca and Tuscany.
Now, together, we are taking the next step in creating a place where our children can learn, create, collaborate on projects, and enjoy the friendships that make homeschooling even more meaningful.
Why Homeschooling Lucca?
Homeschooling is a beautiful path, but it can also feel overwhelming and isolating when everything depends on the parents.
Many families are looking for:
- a stable community
- healthy social opportunities for their children
- a safe place to meet regularly
- support during the school year
- shared projects and group learning

Homeschooling Lucca wants to become exactly that! A practical, family-centered homeschooling hub in Lucca, Tuscany.

What will happen there?
We will meet in a spacious room in Lucca's centro storico (the historic centre, inside the walls).
The children will have the opportunity to:
- study together
- work on creative and educational projects
- read, present, discuss and explore topics
- take part in group activities
- build real friendships
- play, create and learn in a calm environment
For parents, it will also be a place to connect, exchange ideas, support each other and build a real community.
Possible activities
The final program will be shaped around the ages of the children, the needs of the families and the weekly schedule we build together.
Activities may include:
- shared study time
- interdisciplinary projects
- art and creative work
- science and nature activities
- reading and presentations
- Italian, English, math or other subject support
- group discussions
- themed learning days
- free play and social time
In the future, we also hope to invite tutors and teachers for specific subjects, depending on the needs of the families.
